We're so glad you are interested in joining our elite corps of dedicated volunteers.  Volunteers enrich the capabilities of the library.  By sharing your time and talent with us, you can make a big difference in the quality of library services in our community.

Volunteers at BPL come from all walks of life.  Any age, any skill, any amount of time to share each week... you will be a welcome addition to our library team.  Library volunteers are asked to perform tasks such as shelf reading (putting the books in order on the shelf), light dusting (the shelves get very dusty), cleaning books (all those happy hands), or assisting with special projects. We even have tasks involving sorting, filing, or organizing.   Don’t worry, we train our volunteers.

As a volunteer you must. . .

ü      Be able to work at least 2 hours per week

ü      Be willing to accept direction

ü      Be willing to ask questions

ü      Be reliable and prompt

ü      Be willing to keep us advised of conflicts and schedule changes

ü      Remember to sign in and out to document your volunteer hours

ü      Be ready to work
